Hailey's 5th birthday party

Can you belive that Hailey is 5! I sure can't. She had a great party on Saturday with a ton of her best friends. I expected it to be completely crazy but it was just a nice fun day. The weather was beautiful and we had two of the most helpful girls from the dance studio here to help. We made really cool bouncy balls, had the bouncer up and just played. I found these really cute cakes (wish I could say I made them). She got tons of great gifts and all the clothes she got fit her, which I still can't believe.

I told her I might cry because my baby was going to be 5. She told me I could cry but that I had to do it inside and not outside at her party :)

WAMMS

Lauren has been collecting shoes for WAMMS (Walk a Mile in My Shoes) organization that sends shoes over to countries where many of the children don't have shoes. Lauren has always asked if we could give our shoes that don't fit to needy kids so this was a perfect fit. She sent out the email all by herself and has been collecting money and shoes for the past two weeks. It has been so heartwarming to see kids giving her their allowence to help with the shipping of the shoes. So far she has collected 31 pairs of shoes and $17. One of the Girl Scout Troops in our neighborhood is making this their bronze award so let us know if you have more shoes and we will get them to this troop!

Chloe, Chloe, Chloe

Hmm, want to know the reason why chloe looks so guilty in this picture???

Maybe because she ate (completely ate) 3 boxes of girl scout cookies. The ate 2 sleeves of thin mints, plastic and all, one tray of tag a longs and one box of Samoas. She opened the do-si-dos but since they don't have any chocolate she left them alone (see the two packs left). Ugh, the dog who loves chocolate. Luckily she really didn't get sick. She was tired and slept alot but that's about it. Good thing my sister stopped by when she got into box #4 otherwise who would know how many boxes she would have eaten.

Nothing too exciting...

It feels like along time since I have posted. Partly because facebook reading has become a new habit :) and partly because nothing too exciting is going on :(
The girls will be having their dance recital this year in May and because they are both taking combo classes (ballet/jazz) and (hip hop/tumbling) plus tap they will both be in at least 3 dances. I am very excited to be going to a dance show where I get to watch 6 dances that my girls will be in versus the normal 2!
The other thing I am excited about is Geocaching. I took a class today at girl scout leader training all about Geocaching. I can't wait to take our family and then take our troop, once I know what I am doing :) Now I just have to go buy a GPS so we can get started. I found out that there are hundreds of Geocaches within 10 miles of our house. If you haven't heard of Geocaching, it's basically a GPS run outdoor treasure hunt!
For those of you that ordered girl scout cookies, we will be getting them delivered to us Feb 16th so be on the lookout for our call. I can't wait for a box of frozen thin mint cookies. As always my dinner the night of the 16th will be a frozen box of thin mints, good thing they don't take long to freeze :)
Hopefully the next post will have some pictures of something fun!

Girl Scout Flag Ceremony

I am always so proud to watch our girls do a flag ceremony. We had all the smallest girls carrying the flags (we drew names out of a hat). It takes alot of courage to go to a leaders meeting and do the flag ceremony in front of all those adults. They did a great job without any help from us. We got to stand back with the other leaders and watch. It's such a great feeling to watch your "girls" do something like this all on their own. They were so respectful and knew just what to do and when. It's moments like these that make me proud to be part of girl scouts as well as proud to be an American.
