Lauren's new love

Lauren has found a new love. She has taken up playing the harp and has been taking lessons every week since September. She is loving it and doing very well. She and her harp teacher have a great time together and we are very impressed with how far she has progressed. She is still nervous to play for other people but is getting more and more comfortable all the time.

This month she increases her lessons to every week for an hour. My next goal is to videotape her and post it for everyone :)

Girl Scout Day at the Farm

At the beginning of November our Girl Scout Troop held their first event. Brownie Day at the Farm. What a fun day. We love going out to the working dairy farm in Mesa. The girls got to ride the hayride and learn all about working dairy farms, how milk gets to the table, tasting butter, milk and ice cream, petting the rescued animals they care for and of course the highlight of seeing a few baby calf's being born.

Our troop is moving forward with the next event at the farm for Daisy Girl Scouts in January. Hailey and her troop are excited to have an event just for them.

Disneyland Here We Come...

Well it's been a long time since I've blogged so I am trying to make up for lost time. In October during fall break the four of us went for a 4 day trip to Disneyland. We had so much fun. It has been so long since the 4 of us had taken a family trip and we enjoyed every minute (except the sore feet from all the walking). We averaged 10 - 12 hours a day at Disney squeezing in every second we could.

Hailey is our daredevil wanting to go on every roller coaster she could. Her favorite ride was Tower of Terror in California Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland. They weren't Lauren's favorite but she was a trooper and tried every ride at least once.

To make the trip even more special the girls dance studio was performing with their Acroteam while we were there so we got to see the girls perform and spend some time with all the families. The girls thought it was really neat to see their friends at Disney and be able to ride a few rides with them.

Amazing what a few years does for going to Disney. Last time we went was a few years ago and the girls could barely go on anything. This time was a blast!

Goofy Girls

Girls being goofy cousins and having fun! It's been a long time since I've blogged. We've been super busy but nothing seems to exciting to post about! The girls are both in dance, they both have Girl Scout troops, Lauren is playing the harp and Shawn and I are working :) I have completely learned where the phrase "Mom's Taxi" came from.

Super Cute Daisy's

Hailey is so excited that she can now say she is officially a Girl Scout. A Daisy Girl Scout with her own troop that she doesn't have to share with her sister! I am also excited that we have an amazing group of kindergarten and 1st graders. We are going to have a great year. I am so happy to have my good friend Jill as my co-leader to help me out and be by my side this year.

I am so glad to have both my girls as part of such a strong organization in the lives of women and girls. We are making memories that will last a lifetime.

Shrinky Dinks

Wow, I didn'e realize shrinky dinks were still around! Some of the girls in our Girl Scout troop went to visit our grandfriend and it turns out her neice was one of the inventors. She had kept all sorts of stuff for the past few years. The girls had so much fun and can't wait to do them again.

1st day of school

Well it's officially here. Lauren first day of 3rd grade and Hailey's first day of kindergarten. I still can't believe it but I completely understand the phrase that the days go by slow but the years go by fast. Although it's still 113 and very hot school is starting.

Hailey in front of the archways of our house ready to go off to kindergarten. She has been asking since January when school is starting. She is so ready. Not even a hesitation. Would have been nice if she would have been a little sad, at least for my ego :)
Lauren and Hailey on the playground right before school starts

Lauren out front in our yearly pictures in the archway of our house. Lauren was a little aprehensive about 3rd grade but having her old math teacher check in on her a few times over the first two days really helped. She said she was worried about failing third grade because she didn't understand everything her teacher was talking about. I don't think she really understands how smart she is :)
