Turned out to be a good day...

Well even though the girls were both still sick and stayed home today it turned out to be a good thing. We spent almost the entire day sitting on the couch watching the inauguration, parade and the neighborhood ball. It was so nice to have the girls see history in the making. I don't know that I have ever watched much of any past inaugurations but today I think I watched about 7 hours of TV. I thought it was such a neat day and everything was beautiful.

California Weekend

This past weekend the girls and I went to California for my best friend Sara's baby shower. It turned out to be a great party with a great turnout! We had time to go to the store and hopefully get all the baby supplies she needs! I just wish I lived close by to be there when the baby is born :(

On Sunday we got to visit my brother who the girls refer to as Uncle Jungle Gym :) They love to jump, climp and wrestle with him. The highlight however was getting to see his cat, Jasmine.

She is a very shy girl who runs when people come over. We were so excited that not only did she come out but also we got to pet her and play with her.

The only downfall was that the girls got sick on Saturday so we had to cancel most of our plans. We were hoping to go to the teaching zoo and see some friends, oh well there is always next time!

Why we watch people's pets :)

I think the pictures explain it all. I guess we can't get enough of our own pets so we have to get love from other people's pets :) The only downfall is that the girls are sad when the animals go home and lately we have been doing some overspoiling!

The girls are wanting a small dog so bad that they can bring in their bed or sit in their lap. Who knows maybe some day it will happen. We are just always so worried the big dogs will hurt them on accident. So for now we will just babysit the small dogs :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR's

Happy 2009 to everyone! I can't believe that it is January. This year Hailey will be 5 and start kindergarten and Lauren will be 8 and start 3rd grade!!!
We all made it up until midnight for the first time in years :) The girls had fun with their friends playing, running around, eating, doing sparklers, poppers, and blowing horns. The even better part was that they both slept until 10:00am this morning.
Here's to a year that brings a better economy, more hope to the world and change that we all need :)

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We were surrounded by family and friends and as usual the girls got quite spoiled! Even with the economy being in such a bad state we have so much family that it felt like unending presents this year. We were lucky to have my brother here all week, my mom and step-dad from Sat-Wed, my dad and step-mom from Wed-Sun and other friends that were in town. My sister in law, and family get in town later this week.
Here I was worried about the three weeks of break going really slow and the girls killing each other and now we are in week two and haven't sat down to take a breath yet :)

The girls with new shoes from Sara. It wouldn't be Christmas without shoes from my friend Sara. Notice Lauren's hot pink and black pants (those were mine when I was her age)!!

Wii have joined the groupies

We have now joined all the other Wii groupies in the world. For christmas my parents got us a Wii. Until now I had never played Guitar Hero. I can't believe how addicting it is. We were so excited about playing the Wii that I forgot to take pictures opening presents Christmas morning, isn't that horrible! Oh well, I do have pictures of all of playing bowling, boxing, golf, Super Mario Kart and Guitar Hero so that must count for something.

Good thing you don't need to know how to play a guitar to be able to play Guitar Hero.

The girls are still getting the hang of the steering wheel. Much harder than they thought it would be. Although they like running Mario into the water :)

Uncle Jungle Gym

If you wonder what do the girls do when Uncle Chris (my brother) comes to town for a week at Christmas? Well now you know :) They play Jungle Gym on him :) The girls absolutely love when my brother comes to town. He is so good with them. He plays games, lets them jump on him, tickles them and even babysits!! He had to go home last night so the girls are sad today. We have had family in town since last Saturday so we are now on the wind down after a whirlwind week. Oh well the next set of family comes in a few days.
